Spring continues to produce severe weather systems, with large swaths of the country recently impacted by severe storms, damaging winds, and tornadoes. PERC’s Propane and Weather Safety webpage has helpful information that you can give to your customers so they better understand propane safety during natural disasters, including hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, and wildfires. You can share preparedness and safety information through your company website and customer communications, such as e-mails, receipts, mailings, and social media outlets.
Hurricane season starts June 1, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has designated May 5 – 11 as National Hurricane Preparedness Week. NOAA encourages everyone to better understand their risk from hurricanes and begin pre-season preparations now. As hurricane season approaches, now is the time to prepare your customers, employees, and infrastructure for the threat of severe weather.
As always, we encourage our members to plan ahead with their suppliers in case of supply disruptions, infrastructure issues, and high-demand scenarios. For more information and resources on emergency preparedness and business continuity, visit www.ready.gov/business.
