A new requirement for temperature compensation for new installations of meters with a maximum rated capacity of 20 gallons per minute or less will take effect January 1, 2026. This requirement was published in the 2024 edition of Handbook 130 Uniform Laws and Regulations in the Areas of Legal Metrology and Fuel Quality and abolishes an exemption that these meters had enjoyed since 1986.
