The 2024 edition of NFPA 58 coming in August includes a new chapter on mobile food facilities. A task force consisting of members of NPGA’s TS&S Committee and others, including a food truck manufacturer, drafted the new requirements. The chapter addresses containers, piping systems, materials, and appliances for installation on vehicles. Training will be required for at least one person prior to starting cooking operations, with refresher training provided annually. In addition, annual testing of the piping system and all connections must be performed and documented. For further information, please contact Bruce Swiecicki.
