Every day, 22,000 propane Autogas school buses transport more than 1.3 million students in 48 states around the country. Propane burns cleanly and has a low-carbon content. Autogas school buses can drastically reduce emissions of NOx and particulate matter, which are air pollutants that harm human health and degrade local air quality. Propane buses also reduce the carbon intensity of our transportation fuel, helping states and school districts advance their decarbonization goals. Propane-powered buses crank reliably in cold temperatures and have an operating range of up to 400 miles. And importantly, propane school buses come with a sticker price far below natural gas or electric, allowing more money to be directed back into the classroom.
