Bottom Line: NPGA’s Technology, Standards and Safety Committee met March 6-8, reviewing the ongoing development of the 2023 edition of NFPA 58 and considering dockets and proposals to improve codes and standards for the industry.
The meeting, which was held in Charlotte, included an overview of the training facility built and operated by the North Carolina Propane Gas Association
During the general meeting, four dockets advanced proposals for review and comment including a proposal addressing flood control requirements for containers and another that considers advanced methods for product control at bulk plants. In addition, two proposals were advanced for letter ballot, including one addressing acceptable colors for tracer wire installed to locate underground plastic piping and another that addresses the requirement for conducting a fire safety analysis at bulk and industrial plants.
The Committee will next meet in September, and all NPGA members are invited to attend. Questions? Contact NPGA’s Bruce Swiecicki.
