Bottom Line: All states reporting mature corn. As of the September 6, 2022, the Crop Report published by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) reports 92% of corn has entered the doughing stage, which is down by 1% from the five-year average. USDA reports all 18 evaluated states have corn entered into the denting stage. Furthermore, all USDA evaluated states have mature corn.
According to the U.S. National Grain Drying Profile, created by the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC), the current trend is displaying a normal to drier crop this year. NPGA continues to track environmental factors impacting corn crop to navigate informed discussions pertaining to supply and harvest. NPGA and PERC encourage propane marketers to continue communicating with agricultural customers often for the upcoming crop drying season.
