Harvest is complete in most areas and ending the year with a drier crop. Overall, crop conditions and weather remain consistent with earlier predictions. The latest report by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Crop Progress Report does not display corn crop numbers because corn harvest is complete. USDA released the final crop progress report November 29, 2021 and resume April 4, 2022. NPGA and PERC encourage propane marketers to communicate with agricultural customers throughout the winter for heating demands for livestock and winter crops.
The USDA provides a monthly snapshot comparing recent years, which is available online here. The U.S. National Grain Drying Profile, created by the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC), also indicates dry crop this year in most areas.
