Bottom line: NPGA and state associations are applying for grant money from the U.S. Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) to support state associations’ hazardous materials training and community safety activities.
NPGA is working with state/regional propane associations and the Propane Education & Research Council to develop an industry proposal for PHMSA’s Community Safety and Hazardous Materials Instructor Training grant programs. State/regional propane associations must send NPGA hazardous material training or community safety training project proposals in order to be include in the grant application. There is an estimated $750,000 available in 2022. If successful, NPGA would be the primary awardee, and each state/regional propane association would receive a portion of the funds from NPGA to be used for specific state programs.
The deadline to submit proposals to NPGA is April 1, 2022. Questions? Contact NPGA’s Manager, Industry Affairs Twana Aiken.
