NPGA’s proposed Tentative Interim Amendment (TIA) to NFPA 58 that would allow cylinders marked in metric units to be filled is progressing through the NFPA process. This TIA would affect the 2024 edition of NFPA 58, which currently prohibits cylinders that have only metric markings (as required in Canada) to be filled. The Canadian LP-Gas Code B149.2 does require cylinders to have overfilling prevention devices, as required by NFPA 58.
To view the proposed TIA and submit comments, which are due April 19, follow this link. For more information, contact Bruce Swiecicki.
