Bottom Line: Comment Deadline May 31 for several NFPA standards.
The public comment period concludes on May 31 for the first revisions of several NFPA standards. Impacting the propane industry, the National Fuel Gas Code (NFPA 54) has a proposal to include a “Interruption of Service” definition that does not include an out-of-gas situation. Therefore, leak checks would not need to be performed. Also, up for comment are the NFPA 59 LP-Gas Utility Plant Code and NFPA 30A Guide for Motor Fuel Dispensing Facilities and Repair Garages. Reviewing the drafts can be done at www.nfpa.org. For further information, contact Bruce Swiecicki, Chief Technical Officer.
