NPGA is partnering with the National League of Cities (NLC) for a webinar on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at 10 am ET to discuss how propane can help cities meet data center energy and emissions challenges. Register for the webinar here.
As data centers rapidly expand to support the digital economy, municipalities are confronting a new energy dilemma: how to welcome high-value investment while managing power demand, emissions, and community concerns. In many regions, grid limitations, lengthy interconnection timelines, and diesel reliance have made siting these facilities increasingly complex.
This session will explore how existing and emerging propane technology, infrastructure, and policy frameworks, can help local governments balance economic development with environmental responsibility. Attendees will learn how propane can reduce emissions, strengthen grid resilience, and enable faster deployment of data centers in areas without utility infrastructure upgrades.
Drawing on findings from the Powering the Digital Age white paper, this discussion will provide municipal leaders with practical insights into how energy choice policies, local permitting, and distributed energy planning can make their communities more attractive for data center investment – while protecting local air quality and reliability.
