Bottom Line: Host a site visit. In August, Valley Wide Cooperative hosted Congressman Mike Simpson (R-ID) for a site visit at their location in Jerome, Idaho. Congressman Simpson is an influential member of the House Appropriations Committee, where he also holds the role of Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Energy and Water, a critical target for NPGA’s appropriations advocacy efforts. During the tour, Tom Daniels, President of Valley Wide, and Tom Clark, Rocky Mountain Propane Association, discussed with the Congressman the importance of propane in Idaho’s 2nd District and shared NPGA’s top legislative priorities. Congressman Simpson shared that he has a standby propane generator at his home, which is the place to be in his neighborhood when the power goes out.
If your company is interested in hosting a member of Congress, please reach out to Eric Sears, NPGA’s Manager of State Association relations, at [email protected].
