USDA Crop Report: Planting & Condition

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Crop Report as of July 6, 2026, shows developments in corn and soybean planting and condition, crucial information for the propane and renewable fuels sectors.

Corn Progress Update

• Corn Silking is at 16% (across the 18 states that account for 91% of the corn acreage), which is ahead of the 5-year average.
• Corn Dough is at 3%, which is in line with the 5-year average
• Crop Condition: Ratings remain consistent with last year, currently sitting at 21% fair, 57% good, and 17% excellent. 

Soybean Progress Update

• Soybeans blooming is at 34% (across the 18 states that account for 96% of the corn acreage), which is ahead of the 5-year average.
• Soybeans setting pods are at 9%, ahead of the 5-year average.
• Crop Condition: Ratings remain consistent with last year, currently sitting at 28% fair, 53% good, and 11% excellent.
