USDA Crop Report: Planting & Condition

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Crop Report as of August 24, 2026, shows developments in corn and soybean planting and condition, crucial information for the propane and renewable fuels sectors.

Corn Progress Update

• Corn Dough is at 86%, which is ahead of the 5-year average (across the 18 states that account for 91% of the corn acreage)
• Corn Dented is at 45%, which is ahead of the 5-year average
• Corn Mature is at 6%, which is in line with the 5-year average
• Crop Condition: Ratings are slightly behind last year, currently sitting at 26% fair, 43% good, and 14% excellent. 

Soybean Progress Update

• Soybeans setting pods are at 91%, ahead of the 5-year average.
• Soybeans dropping leaves are at 6%, ahead of the 5-year average.
• Crop Condition: Ratings remain consistent with last year, currently sitting at 28% fair, 48% good, and 12% excellent.
