All evaluated states are harvesting corn except Colorado. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) report for September 25 shows harvested corn at 15% this week, which is exceeding the five-year average by 2% and the same time last year by 4%. Moreover, mature corn has reached 70% progress this week, jumping up 16% points from last week and surpassing the five-year average by 10%. Moreover, the quality of corn in the “good to excellent” category has experienced an increase after four consecutive weeks of decline bringing the total to 53%.
NPGA continues to diligently monitor the ongoing progress and various environmental variables that might influence the demand for propane during harvest season. This includes increased yields due to this year’s record-breaking crop planting. To view the USDA crop report in its entirety, click here.
