As the harvest process initiates gradually in select regions, mature corn has been reported in thirteen of the assessed states. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) report for August 28 displays the newly introduced phase which signifies the ultimate stage of maturity for the corn crop, accounting for 9% of the total this week, which is exceeding the five-year average by 1%. Specifically, dented corn has reached 51% progress this week, surpassing the five-year average by 2%. However, the quality of corn in the “good to excellent” category has experienced a marginal decline of 2% over the course of this week.
