The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) August 14 report shows seventeen evaluated states have corn in the dented stage with Pennsylvania with unreported numbers. States with dented corn came in at 18% this week, which is consistent with the four-year average. The silking phase is concluding in most areas with 96% completed this week and continues to exceed the four-year average. 65% of the crop in evaluated states is still in the doughing stage, which is slightly above the four-year average of 63%. Good to excellent corn conditions increased by 2% again this week. NPGA continues to track progress and other environmental factors that may impact the demand for propane during harvest season. The entire USDA crop report is available here.
