The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) August 7 report shows the next maturity step for corn crop – denting. Twelve of the eighteen evaluated states have corn in the denting stage, which is at 8% and consistent with the four-year average. The silking phase is concluding in most areas with 93% completed this week and continues to exceed the four-year average. 47% of the crop in evaluated states is still in the doughing stage, which is slightly above the four-year average of 46%. Good to excellent corn conditions increased by 2%, recovering from the low percentage from last week. NPGA continues to track progress and other environmental factors that may impact the demand for propane during harvest season. The entire USDA crop report is available here.
