U.S. Department of Agriculture: Crop Progress Report

Bottom Line: The harvest and mature corn numbers are ahead of the five-year average.  As of October 17, 2022, the Crop Report published by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) reports 94% of corn has matured, which is an increase of 2% from the five-year average.

According to the U.S. National Grain Drying Profile, created by the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC), the current trend is displaying a normal to drier crop this year. NPGA continues to track environmental factors impacting corn crop to navigate informed discussions pertaining to supply and harvest. NPGA and PERC encourage propane marketers to continue communicating with agricultural customers often for the upcoming crop drying season.
