U.S. Department of Agriculture: Crop Progress Report

Bottom Line: Harvest is ahead of the five-year average.

As of October 11, 2022, the Crop Report published by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) reports 87% of corn has matured, which is an increase of 2% from the five-year average.

According to the U.S. National Grain Drying Profile, created by the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC), the current trend is displaying a normal to drier crop this year. NPGA continues to track environmental factors impacting corn crop. NPGA and PERC encourage propane marketers to communicate with agricultural customers often for the upcoming crop drying season.
