This week the Federal Transit Administration released 2023 funding awards for transit buses and bus infrastructure. Awardees in Colorado, Minnesota, Mississippi, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, and Ohio will receive over $44 million dollars to purchase propane buses and install propane fueling infrastructure. The diverse recipients, ranging from major cities to rural communities to tribal nations demonstrates that propane buses are an effective, reliable and versatile transit solution in all types of communities throughout the nation. These awards represent 2.4 fold increase in propane funding from last year’s funding and 47 fold increase from the first year of the funding program.
