On October 31, 2023, Skagit Farmer Supply (FS) hosted Rep. Rick Larsen (WA-02) at their Burlington, WA facility. The Congressman is the Ranking Member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. During the visit, the Congressman learned about the propane industry and the important role the fuel plays in helping Washingtonians meet their heating and energy needs. He also toured the rail terminal on site. Ryan Nootenboom of Skagit FS discussed Washington State’s cap-and-invest program and highlighted the impact it is having on the Congressman’s constituents. Representative Larsen was especially interested in learning more about rail safety and the degree to which rail embargoes affect the propane industry.
Hosting a facility visit is a valuable opportunity to educate your elected officials about your company’s impact on the community – and NPGA is here to help. If your company is interested in hosting a site visit, please contact NPGA’s Manager of State Association Relations, Eric Sears.
