Congressman Lloyd Smucker (R-KS) recently visited Rhoads Energy in Mt. Joy, Pennsylvania. Michael DeBerdine, Rhoads Energy CEO, hosted the tour for the Congressman and his staff, where he showcased the facility and briefed the delegation on how propane provides for the diverse energy needs of the local community. As a leading voice on the powerful Ways and Means Committee, this tour offered Congressman Smucker first-hand experience on the advantages of propane autogas, the benefits of propane to the environment, and provided valuable context on the effects of policymaking.
Facility visits are an opportunity for direct grassroots advocacy outside of Washington, D.C., where constituent access to lawmakers on Capitol Hill is still limited due to COVID-19. NPGA has resources available for association members interested in hosting their elected officials for a site visit. If your company is interested in hosting a Member of Congress at your propane facility, please contact Eric Sears, NPGA’s Manager of State Association Relations.
