Prism Propane Welcomes Congressman Latta

NPGA joined Prism Propane in welcoming Congressman Bob Latta to their North Baltimore, OH, headquarters on August 1, 2023. John Hutchison, Director of Operations at Prism, provided Congressman Latta with a tour of the facility, including Prism’s new autogas vehicles, a demonstration of how autogas refueling nozzles work, the company’s fully autogas-powered bobtail, and more.

Congressman Latta discussed the various challenges the propane industry is facing from the federal perspective, such as the “electrify everything” movement, the continued push to protect consumers’ rights to utilize the energy source of their choice, and the necessity of unlocking federal funding for propane expansion. The Congressman was able to hear first-hand the challenges propane marketers face on the ground in their day-to-day operations, including workforce and increased overhead costs. The site visit also allowed Rep. Latta to see NPGA’s advocacy efforts at the state and federal levels and provide an overview of the industry in Ohio.

Congressman Latta is a senior member of the House Energy Committee, and in 2015, he helped form the Congressional Propane Caucus. The Congressman has been Co-Chair of the Caucus since its inception and has represented the people of Ohio’s 5th District since 2007.
