NPGA’s Legislative Affairs team is hosting a webinar on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. ET to prepare for Propane Days, June 7-9, 2026, in Washington, D.C. Please click this link to register for the webinar and add it to your schedule. The webinar will review best practices for conducting a meeting and discuss our industry’s top federal legislative priorities. This year, our advocacy efforts will focus on the following:
- Urge a House vote and Senate consideration of the Energy Choice Act. This critical legislation would prevent state and local governments from imposing bans on propane and natural gas, preserving consumer energy choice.
- Ensure stable funding for LIHEAP. The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a vital resource that helps low-income households meet their essential energy needs. Recent Trump Administration action threatens reliable appropriations, which are essential to maintain its effectiveness and reach.
- Propane supply and pricing concerns regarding the conflict in the Middle East. Conflict in the Middle East is causing uncertainty in global energy markets, but U.S. propane supplies and prices have stayed mostly stable so far because summer demand is low. Industry stakeholders are concerned that if tensions continue into the fall and winter, higher export and heating demand could create market volatility and impact energy affordability.
