On Tuesday night, President Trump gave his State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress. The President touched on many issues that affect the U.S. economy generally and the energy sector specifically. He reflected on his legislative and regulatory priorities, including private-sector job and wage growth, increased business investment, and reduced inflationary and regulatory pressures on consumers and industries.
President Trump noted the economic and national security benefits of U.S. energy dominance and emphasized expanding domestic oil and natural gas production, which will also increase propane production. The U.S. is already the world’s leading producer and supplier of propane – ensuring a reliable and affordable energy option remains available for consumers – and NPGA encourages the President and Congress to focus on the many benefits of domestically produced energy resources, such as propane, as part of a national energy strategy that promotes robust competition and availability in the marketplace, both of which greatly benefit energy consumers and the American public.
NPGA will continue to engage the Trump Administration and Congress to promote the legislative and regulatory priorities of member companies and the U.S. propane industry.
