Bottom Line: NPGA and 4 State Associations signed an amicus brief to support Embridge’s efforts to keep the existing pipeline open.
NPGA continues to support the continued operation of Enbridge Line 5 in the State of Michigan. Most recently, NPGA along with four other state associations (Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Wisconsin), signed on to an amicus brief filed by the Association of Oil Pipelines that supports Enbridge’s efforts to keep the existing pipeline open. The brief was filed as part of the litigation between Enbridge and the State of Michigan, which is being heard in federal court, in response to a November 2020 order issued by Michigan’s governor to shut down the pipeline.
