Last month, the National Propane Gas Association sponsored and attended the University of New Mexico DC Alumni Association Annual Chile Roast on the National Mall. Hatch chiles, from New Mexico, are roasted exclusively with propane; the roasting process lends the Hatch chile its unique flavor profile. This annual event is one of the largest gatherings of UNM alumni nationwide. Over 4,500 pounds of chiles were roasted this year. NPGA staffer Lauren Medlin, Manager of Federal Legislative Affairs, was on hand to participate in this fun end-of-summer event!
