Bottom Line: Attend the update at HPBA’s Expo in March on ASHRAE Standard 6.2, Indoor Air Quality in Residential Buildings
NPGA Staff along with HPBA and other industry experts are slated to provide an important update on ASHRAE standard 62.2 “Indoor Air Quality in Residential Buildings” activity during the upcoming Hearth, Patio & Barbecue Association’s HPBA Expo in Atlanta, GA in early March. If approved and published, the proposed addendum “j” will prohibit the installation of safe and efficient propane gas-fired unvented heaters in a 62.2 compliant home. Those members of NPGA’s Manufacturers and Distributors Sections are especially encouraged to take note of this important event.
The HPBA Expo will take place from March 2-5 at Atlanta’s World Congress Center. The regulatory update is Wednesday, March 2, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. The event program will include the background that has led the ASHRAE 62.2 standards committee to propose addendum j, and the industry’s continuing efforts to strongly oppose the addendum and prevent it from being published.
