NPGA recently participated in a natural gas and energy panel hosted by the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners’ (NARUC) Committee on Natural Gas.
During the panel, NPGA educated commissioners and commission staff on the many ways in which propane promotes energy security and strengthens our energy sector. Attendees learned how propane takes pressure off the electric grid – enabling it to better cope with peak demand – and enhances the resilience of our natural gas distribution system. This included discussions on propane peaking plants and the vital role propane plays during periods of gas curtailment.
NARUC is the national association representing state public service commissions from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories. For more information, please contact NPGA’s Jacob Peterson.
