Bottom Line: NPGA has filed two appeals based on the actions of NFPA technical committees.
The first appeal involves NFPA 58 and a request to increase the output pressure of the dispensing system for public refueling of propane vehicles from 312 psig to 350 psig, based on very recent testing done by Southwest Research Institute and sponsored by PERC. The second appeal is to the development of NFPA 505, the safety standard for forklift trucks and other utility vehicles. NPGA is proposing that forklift cylinders be permitted to be filled in accordance with NFPA 58 while the cylinder is mounted on the vehicle, which NFPA 58 already permits.
