On Friday, September 1, NPGA, along with the American Gas Association and American Public Gas Association, filed comments with the Department of Energy (DOE) regarding a Notice of Data Availability (NODA) on Consumer Conventional Cooking Products. DOE published the NODA in response to feedback received on consumer preferences, and updated analysis of cooktops. DOE’s revised efficiency levels provide negligible energy savings and an extended payback period. Further, NPGA and its coalition partners pointed out the numerous areas of confusion and lack of clarity in the NODA.
