As efforts to electrify combustion applications intensifies, it’s crucial that our industry better understands how electricity is generated in different parts of the country. Members can now access state electric generation profiles for 2020, which contain an overview of following information for each state:
- Generation characteristics of electric power
- Amount of carbon dioxide electricity produces
- Carbon intensity of the electric power sector
- Environmental impacts of traditional generation sources
A more comprehensive and granular understanding of electricity’s carbon footprint is needed as we continue to confront harmful electrification proposals across the states. These state electricity profiles are available under the Fight Electrification section on the Member Dashboard. For more information, please contact NPGA’s Jacob Peterson.
