While the propane industry is highly regulated at the state level, industry regulations, business requirements, and licensing standards vary drastically from state-to-state. To help propane marketers better understand his complex web of regulations and requirements, we are excited to provide members with a 50-state survey of the following issues that affect the propane industry:
- Training and licensing requirements to install gas piping and appliances;
- Training and licensing requirements for propane industry personnel (e.g., bobtail driver, service technician);
- Legal requirements to operate a propane business;
- Requirements / prohibitions on sales only by weight, liquid measure, or vapor measure whereas selling by the “fill” is not permitted.
To access the survey, visit the My State section of NPGA’s website. For more information, contact NPGA’s Senior Director of State Affairs, Jacob Peterson.
