Bottom Line: NCWM votes to update handbook series.
Last week the National Conference on Weights and Measures (NCWM) conducted its Annual Meeting to vote on changes to its handbook series. Of particular interest to the propane industry are Handbook 44 Specifications and Tolerances for Weighing and Measuring Devices and Handbook 130 Uniform Laws and Regulations. NPGA made proposals for both handbooks seeking relief from onerous regulations regarding the zero-setback requirement for retail motor fuel dispensing devices and the 2-minute timeout requirement for bobtail dispensers. Those proposals are still under review and NPGA will submit additional comment supporting those proposals by August 15.. For more information, please contact Chief Technical Officer, Bruce Swiecicki.
