Hurricane season officially begins June 1, 2023, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is promoting National Hurricane Preparedness Week from April 30 – May 6. NOAA encourages everyone to be better prepared for when the worst happens, understand your risk from hurricanes, and begin pre-season preparations now.
Spring continues to produce severe weather systems affecting most of the country with heavy rain, snow, flooding, and tornadoes. Now is the time to prepare your customers, your employees, and your infrastructure for hurricane season and other imminent severe weather threats. PERC’s Propane and Weather Safety webpage has helpful information that you can give your customers so they better understand propane safety during extreme weather events, including hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, and wildfires. You can share preparedness and safety information through your company website and customer communications, such as e-mails, receipts, mailings, and your social media outlets.
As always, we encourage our members to plan ahead with their suppliers in case of supply disruptions, infrastructure issues, and high-demand scenarios.
