Last week the U.S. Climate Alliance, a coalition of 23 state governors and two territorial governors, set a goal to reach 20 million heat pump installations across their respective states and territories by 2030. This effort is part of a larger initiative to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from residential and commercial buildings. This is notable for the propane industry because residential and commercial gallons represented 76% of all fuel sold in 2021.
- The 25 member states from the U.S. Climate Alliances are: AZ, CA, CO, CT, DE, GU, HI, IL, LA, ME, MD, MA, MI, MN, NJ, NM, NY, NC, OR, PA, PR, RI, VT, WA, and WI.
If you’re interested in learning more about heat pumps and how they may impact your business, please attend NPGA’s fall Board of Directors meeting, as there will be a Heat Pump Panel to discuss these very issues. The fall Board meeting is October 16-18 in Louisville, Kentucky.
