FMCSA Waiver Pending

Bottom Line: NPGA’s hours-of-service waiver is pending with the FMCSA. 

If the waiver is granted, the agency will waive various hours-of-service requirements to enable the propane industry to prepare and respond to peak periods of consumer demand among residential, agricultural, and commercial consumers in anticipation of, during, and to recover from emergency conditions. The public comment period closed on October 31, 2022. There were a few substantive comments submitted and FMCSA is now reviewing the comments and the application. If the waiver is granted, NPGA will deploy extensive resources to help members utilize and comply with the provisions of the waiver.
