On August 31, Rep. Blake Moore (R-UT-1) joined the Rocky Mountain Propane Association at their annual conference in Ogden, UT, for a fireside chat with RMPGA Executive Director Tom Clark and NPGA President and CEO Steve Kaminski. The Congressman discussed H.R. 1, the Lower Energy Costs Act, which would increase domestic production by alleviating the permitting process challenges and reducing fees for oil and gas production that ultimately get passed to consumers. The Congressman also reaffirmed his support for consumer choice but noted the political challenges recent legislation, such as the Save Our Gas Stoves Act (H.R. 1640) and the Gas Stove Protection and Freedom Act (H.R. 1615), face in a divided Senate. The conversation also noted that Utah is one of the earlier adopters of clean and affordable propane Autogas buses.
With many topics covered, the chat provided an additional opportunity to educate and engage the Congressman, further strengthening NPGA’s advocacy and voice on Capitol Hill and RMPA’s relationship with a key Utah representative.
