Federal Register Publishes NPGA Application for Special Exemption from Hours of Service Rules
On July 1, 2025, the Federal Register published NPGA’s Application for relief from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Hours of Service Regulations. If granted, NPGA’s waiver would allow for improved industry planning, logistics, and response to emergencies. NPGA members are encouraged to comment in support of the application, and provide examples of how relief from hours of service regulations would help avoid curtailments and protect human health and safety. Comments will be accepted until July 31, 2025. Comments may be submitted here. For questions or additional information, please do not hesitate to contact Senior Vice President of Regulatory & Industry Affairs Benjamin Nussdorf.
