Consumer Product Safety Commission
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is empowered to set mandatory product standards, ban products, or issue product recalls on the basis of unreasonable risk of injuries or death. CPSC has engaged the propane industry to recall specific shipments of insufficiently odorized propane, and to initiate research into carbon monoxide alarms on appliances. CPSC also participates in NFPA code groups.
