On August 18, 2025, Rep. Eugene Vindman visited Blossman Gas in Fredericksburg, VA. The Congressman learned about propane’s role in transportation and its vital role in his congressional district. Industry personnel emphasized the versatility and significant impact of propane in central Virginia during the snowstorm of 2022 and more recently in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, citing its reliability, resilience, and environmental benefits. Jamison Walker from Blossman Gas highlighted how propane supports various residential and commercial applications, including school buses, and is crucial for the success of businesses of all sizes.
During the visit, Rep. Vindman toured the facility and discussed propane’s low carbon emissions and the opportunities to grow the renewable propane marketplace. Mr. Walker asked the Congressman to support the LIHEAP program and the federal workforce administering it. LIHEAP is vital for many Virginians. Mr. Walker also asked the Congressman and his staff to co-sponsor the Energy Choice Act, which prevents state and local governments from imposing bans on propane and natural gas.
Hosting a facility visit is a valuable opportunity to educate your elected officials about your company’s impact on the community – and NPGA is here to help. If your company is interested in hosting a site visit, please contact NPGA’s Senior Manager of State Association Relations, Eric Sears.
