U.S. Representatives Brad Finstad (R-MN-01) and Jim Costa (D-CA-21) and U.S. Senators Joni Ernst (R-IA) and Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) introduced bipartisan and bicameral legislation to improve access to propane storage for agriculture producers. The Growing Rural Ag Infrastructure Needs to Deliver Rising Yields (GRAIN DRY) Act, as it is known in the House of Representatives, would expand the Farm Storage Facility Loan Program so all agricultural producers can benefit from low-interest loans for the purchasing of propane tanks. This legislation would alleviate agriculture producers’ burdens in storing propane and reduce their input costs while also providing surety to the propane supply market.
