Bottom Line: There’s never been a better time to strengthen relationships with elected officials that make critical policy decisions that impact the propane industry.
The Arizona Propane Gas Association held its annual Safety Day at the Capitol in Phoenix on March 17. The association and the Arizona Propane Education and Research Fund (APERF) provided safety demonstrations and educational opportunities for Arizona House and Senate staff and legislators. On display at the capitol grounds included a working hygrometer, cut-away propane tanks, a propane school bus owned by a local school district, other autogas vehicles, a propane inverter generator, and a hot air balloon.
Propane industry members met with elected officials and staff to discuss how propane is part of the solution to carbon reduction. One example: in Maricopa County, the APERF Firepit Rebate program helped remove more than 14,000 pounds of particulate matter annually from wood burning firepits.
