Bottom Line: Now is the time to prepare your customers, employees, and infrastructure for hurricane season and other severe weather threats.
Hurricane season officially started June 1 and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) already has an eye on two tropical systems. One of these systems is forming in the Gulf of Mexico, forecasting to track northeast toward Florida; the other is forming off the Atlantic coast of Florida, heading northeast out to sea.
Now is the time to prepare your customers, employees, and infrastructure for hurricane season and other severe weather threats. PERC’s Propane and Weather Safety webpage has helpful information that you can give your customers so they better understand propane safety during extreme weather events, including hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, and wildfires. You can share preparedness and safety information through your company website and customer communications, such as e-mails, receipts, mailings, and your social media outlets.
As always, we encourage our members to plan ahead with their suppliers in case of supply disruptions, infrastructure issues, and high demand scenarios. For more information and resources on emergency preparedness, visit www.ready.gov/business. Questions? Contact Eric Sears.
