On January 15, 2023, AmeriGas hosted Congressman Jeff Duncan (SC-3) at their Easley location in South Carolina. AmeriGas employees Charlie Lambert, David Dangerfield, and Ray Black greeted the Congressman and his Chief of Staff. This visit allowed the Congressman to learn about propane and its value in the local South Carolina community.
While touring the facility, the Congressman learned about the many uses of propane as an efficient energy source across multiple industries in his district. The discussion also highlighted the eight locations around the state that use propane to fuel school buses to transport students. Additionally, the conversation provided an opportunity to discuss regulations that impact the propane industry, including the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards and how it is duplicative to several existing security measures that other federal and state regulations already require.
The Congressman is on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, and NPGA has worked with the Congressman over the years. This visit was an excellent opportunity for the industry to engage and strengthen its relationship with Rep. Jeff Duncan.
If your company is interested in hosting a member of Congress at your propane facility, please contact NPGA’s Eric Sears at [email protected].
