Education is the Ultimate Investment for the Future
Scholarships are funded from Scholarship Fund endowments earmarked for that purpose and managed by the NPG Foundation. The only limit on the number of scholarships granted is the size of the endowment and the rate of interest that it generates. The first scholarships were awarded in 1995. The committee awarded $85,000 in scholarships to 57 individuals for the 2010-2011 academic year, $84,000 in scholarships to 54 individuals for the 2008-2009 academic year, $82,500 in scholarships to 56 individuals for the 2007-2008 academic year, $75,000 in scholarships to 55 individuals for the 2006-2007 academic year, and 37 scholarships were awarded for the 2005-2006 academic year. 2010-2011 Academic Year Application Deadlines APPLICATIONS MUST BE STARTED BY MARCH 1, 2011- PLEASE NOTE THIS CHANGE FROM PREVIOUS YEARS. IF YOU HAVE NOT STARTED AN APPLICATION BY MARCH 1, 2011, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO APPLY. Applications started by that date must be completed and all required information must be received by March 15, 2011. Successful applicants will be notified beginning summer 2011.
NPGF will only accept online applications for scholarships. The Foundation has discontinued use of the paper scholarship applications to save on administrative costs and to expedite processing. Of course, written high school and college transcripts will still be accepted. The online application will be made available September 15, 2010.
