As a result, NPGA launched a partnership with the Breaux- Lott Leadership Group to enhance the propane industry’s advocacy efforts in Congress. Over the next year, this strengthened legislative team will aggressively support federal legislation to grow the industry. October 22, 2009 Propane Association Supports the Streamline Alternative Fuel Vehicle Conversions Act -- The National Propane Gas Association applauds the introduction of the Streamline Alternative Fuel Vehicle Conversions Act (S. 1809) by Senators Roger Wicker (R-MS) and James Inhofe (R-OK), companion legislation to H.R. 3431 introduced by Representatives Dan Boren (R-OK) and Heath Shuler (D-NC). This legislation seeks to simplify and streamline the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) emissions certification process for aftermarket fuel conversion systems. June 29, 2009 Propane Association Supports the Recently Proposed Fueling America Act -- The National Propane Gas Association has released a statement regarding the newly proposed Fueling America Act, which was introduced on June 25, 2009 by Senators Mark Pryor (D-AR) and Jim Inhofe (R-OK). The legislation seeks to increase the production and sale of propane and natural gas vehicles and develop propane and natural gas vehicle infrastructure across the country. This bill reinforces propane’s role as a reliable alternative fuel. (June 29, 2009) April 8, 2009 Propane Association Presses Congress to Reject Card Check Legislation -- The National Propane Gas Association and many of its 3,200 membesr have voiced concern and opposition regarding the the proposed Employee Free Choice Act (S. 560 and H.R. 1409). NPGA's membership overwhelmingly opposes the elimination of secret ballots and and other changes that would hamper customer service and delivery efficiency.
