"Each year we renew our commitment to addressing the policy challenges confronting the propane industry. Propane Days serves as our primary opportunity to meet with legislators in the nation’s capital. We need to make sure our priorities stay at the forefront of the Congressional agenda." - Carl Hughes, NPGA Chairman
Propane Days provides an opportunity for participants to participants conduct personal visits with Congressional officces. By attending this annual event, you will be giving our industry the strongest possible voice as we seek to convince Congress to support our policy objectives. This year’s Propane Days takes place June 4-6, 2012 in Washington, DC and the timing is perfect to advance our agenda in a number of important ways. We need to seize this opportunity to describe why propane should play a major role in America’s energy future.
The remainder of the 112th Congress will address many items having an impact on our industry, from autogas vehicle manufacturing and conversions, to pipeline infrastructure challenges, to full fuel cycle energy policy. You need to be involved as we seek policies that benet our clean and available fuel. Propane Days 2012 begins with a Welcome Reception on Monday, June 4 at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill. On Tuesday, June 5, legislative briefings on the key issues will be held, as well as informative remarks from high profile political leaders. These briefings will update you on the latest issues impacting the propane industry and give you tips on how to respond to questions during your Congressional visits. Also on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, the Congressional reception will take place, located on Capitol Hill. The reception is a widely attended gathering, and there is no charge to attend the reception. On Wednesday, June 6, 2012, we are setting up an opportunity for participants to interact with a panel of federal regulatory policymakers from key agencies affecting propane, followed by time for additional meetings with Representatives and Senators.
