 Propane Days 2008

The industry made plans once again to hold Propane Days to continue the successful industry outreach and educational effort for Washington policymakers.

Propane Days 2008 was held June 9-11, 2008 in Washington, D.C. at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill.  It was held in conjunction with the Mid-Year Board of Directors meeting and annual Presidential Forum.

The keynote speakers this year were Newt Gingrich, former Speaker of the United States House of Representatives and Tucker Carlson, host of MSNBC’s lively political talk show Tucker.  Invited guest speakers were Tom Barrett, Deputy Secretary of Transportation and Honorable Rick Boucher, United States House of Representatives, Virginia.

The schedule for Propane Days allowed a generous amount of time for industry members to meet with their Representatives and/or Senators on the afternoons of Tuesday, June 10th and Wednesday, June 11th followed by a Congressional Reception each evening.

Back by popular demand!  Tucker Carlson enthralled participants of 2007 Propane Days with his insightful analysis and humorous anecdotes on the Who's Who of Washington, D.C.  Carlson is the host of MSNBC's Tucker, a fast paced, no-holds-barred conversation about the day's developments in news, politics, world issues and pop culture.

Propane Days is part of the industry's Capital Action Program (formerly the Capital Awareness Program), a multi-year joint partnership between the National Propane Gas Association and the Propane Education & Research Council to educate Washington, D.C. policymakers about the many benefits of propane and its multiplier effect on the U.S. economy.
